Christian Pulisic

Chelsea news: Christian Pulisic continued to make little impact for Frank Lampard’s side in the 4-1 defeat at Manchester United.

Christian Pulisic’s disappointing run of form at Chelsea continued on Thursday with a brief cameo in the 4-1 loss at Manchester United.

The Blues were comfortably beaten by Erik Ten Hag’s men, who sealed their spot in next season’s Champions League. It’s a damning contrast to Chelsea, who sit 12th in the Premier League table with one game of the season left.

“Mixed feelings. We played okay in parts today,” Frank Lampard said after the game. “There were some individual performances within the game which will be nice shoots for the future if they’re worked on.

“The reality is when you come to Manchester United is how clinical they are in front of goal, how not clinical we were, how we defended individually poorly in the second half. The result can come.”

“(He’s) a bit of a ‘nearly’ player, Pulisic,” Neville said.

And it’s hard to argue against the former England international’s thoughts. Since joining Chelsea, Pulisic has scored 26 goals and provided a further 21 assists in 144 games.

He’s struggled to become as a regular at Stamford Bridge throughout his time at the club. This summer, he looks destined to leave the club ahead of his contract expiring next year.
