Sergio Ramos

L’Équipe report this evening that Paris Saint-Germain defender Sergio Ramos was unable to complete today’s training session, as he injured himself during a match between the first-team players and some of the youth academy graduates.

The nature and the severity of the injury remain unknown for the time being, but the Spaniard was unable to carry on playing. He was replaced in the central defensive position by Warren Zaïre-Emery – the young midfielder had already been tested as a right-back this season.

Ramos, who is reportedly keen on extending his stay in the French capital past this summer, has been in good form this season after an injury-hit first campaign, when he initially arrived from Real Madrid.

He was notably one of the team’s best performers in the Champions League double header against Bayern Munich. It remains to be seen whether he will be available for the match against Rennes on Sunday, having already made 36 appearances across all competitions this season.
