Today, Tuesday 30 June 2020, has been marked as the Ghana Premier League’s Judgment Day as the Ghana FA’s EXCO team make a call on the season.
With COVID-19 having forced the Ghana Premier League into a suspension and country lockdown, the likes of FIFA and CAF have given various FA’s like the GFA a deadine to cancel or end seasons as things stand on log tables.
“Ghanaian football clubs will learn today whether the 2019-20 season will be rendered null and void or not amid growing uncertainty over the coronavirus pandemic,” reported Ghanasoccernet.
“Local clubs are sitting on the edge as they awaits the final decision from the powerful Ghana FA Executive Council at Tuesday’s crunch meeting in Accra.
“The decision from the 12-member committee will have fa reaching implication on domestic football as abandoning the season entirely would mean no promotion, no relegation and no champions.
“The Ghana Football Association will put to rest the speculation surrounding the future of the season by taking a DEFINITE decision today,” added the outlet.
