Manchester United brushed off RB Leipzig 5-0 in their second Champions’ League group game on Wednesday night.

Mason Greenwood had given United a half time lead with a sublime finish after a neat pass from Paul Pogba but it Marcus Rashford who grabbed the headlines once again by bagging a hat trick after coming from the bench.

The hat trick by the Englishman has only been matched by manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer before by United according to Opta.

Rashford is now only the second United player to score a hat-trick as a substitute; his manager being the only other player to achieve such a remarkable feat at the club.

Solskjaer’s hat-trick from the bench came in the Premier League in 1999 as Sir Alex Ferguson’s Reds defeated Nottingham Forest 8-1 away from home.

Rashford could have entered into the record books if he were to score the fourth goal but decided to leave the penalty duties to Martial after United had won one.
