Milan are ready to make their first offer to extend Gigio Donnarumma’s expiring contract, reports Gianluca Di Marzio.

The contract of the Italy international expires in June 2021 and according to the reliable transfer journalist, Milan are ready to make their first official offer to extend the goalkeeper’s stay at the San Siro.

Milan will offer a new three or four year deal to Donnarumma but are reportedly not willing to offer a pay rise yet.

The Serie A giants want to offer a salary close to €6m, which is Donnrumma’s current wage, but are open to negotiating a higher remuneration.

The player’s agent Mino Raiola, however, is pushing to get more money and according to other reports in Italy he also wants to include a release clause that can be activated if Milan fail to qualify for the Champions League.

New contract talks will formally begin next week with Milan that hope to convince Donnarumma to stay at the club.
