Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has given an update on the injury suffered by defender Rob Holding on their Sunday loss to Manchester City.
Holding who was one of five changes to the side that played out a 1-1 draw with Benfica on Thursday evening but was forced to leave the pitch ten minutes from time for David Luiz after being accidentally caught on the head by the studs of City right-back Joao Cancelo.
Speaking after the game, Arteta admitted that the English center-back will be out of training for some days after he had suffered a concussion.
“That’s a call that has to be given by the doctor. And that’s the communication that we got with him so we decided to make the concussion sub. That’s what they told me (that Holding had a concussion) so if that’s the case he will miss a few days (of training) I think,” Arteta said after the game.
Arteta will be hoping that the defender is back as soon as possible as they have crunch fixtures coming up starting with their Thursday’s second-leg against Benfica in the Europa League.
