The start of the Sanremo Festival is getting closer and closer and as has been well documented, Zlatan Ibrahimovic will be among the regular guests.

There has been a lot of speculation and debate in the media in recent weeks about the Swede’s decision to partake in the festivities given how that week (from 2 to 6 March), Milan will play two league games against Udinese and Verona.

As La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) reports, Ibra signed the contract for Sanrema before his renewal with the Rossoneri and he intends to honour it, so a detailed plan has been established to allow him to do so.

It is as follows: he will be in training on Monday at Milanello, he will be in Sanremo on Tuesday and in the evening, then Wednesday he will be back at Milan for the match against Udinese, training at Milanello on Thursday and another transfer to Liguria where he will remain until Saturday when the final evening of the Festival is scheduled.

Immediately after, on the night between Saturday and Sunday, the Swede will leave to join the Rossoneri in Verona for the match on Sunday 7 March at 15:00 CET.

Amadeus – the artistic director of the event – spoke to RTL 102.5 to talk about the Festival and regarding the presence as a guest of Ibrahimovic, he said:

“I didn’t call Ibrahimovic the day after the derby, after the victory of the Inter, I waited one day … He’s very nice, he’s a professional, he told me he was excited and told how for someone like him it’s a good thing. He will be there on Tuesday, then on Wednesday he will have a game and will return to Sanremo from Thursday until Saturday.”
