Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta isn’t ruling David Luiz out of being involved in tomorrow’s clash against Villarreal.
Arsenal host Villarreal on Thursday evening at the Emirates Stadium in the return leg of the Europa League semi-finals.
The Gunners suffered a 2-1 loss in the first leg fixture and will be aiming to bounce back and make it to this season’s finals.
Luiz could be available for selection tomorrow after the Brazilian picked up a knock during Arsenal’s 2-0 victory over Newcastle United.
Teammate Kieran Tierney resumed full training on Tuesday and Arteta says he will make a decision tomorrow if he will be involved.
“We will see today,” said Arteta when asked about Tierney’s availability.
On Luiz, “With David, it is always possible. He was already saying that he wanted to be available. He has made an incredible effort to be in the position that he is. With David, you never know,” he explained.
On crucial away goal
“It is always really important. We obviously didn’t get the result that we wanted but with the context and the situation that happened during the game, we got out of that situation in a pretty good way considering the circumstances and playing 40 minutes with 10 men.”
