New Paris Saint Germain defender Sergio Ramos gave a press conference after PSG’s first friendly match of the season this week.
With Gini Wijnaldum and Gianluigi Donnarumma also having joined, the legendary Spaniard number five was asked if he would love to see Lionel Messi follow into the club.
“Leo is one of the best players in the world,” he answered, according to El Mundo.
“But it’s not up to me. I could tell you a thousand things, but they wouldn’t be decisive. Everyone makes the decisions they have to make.
“But I like to be surrounded by the best and I will always have a place for him in my team,” the 35-year-old Ramos concluded.
Meanwhile, it remains to be seen if Messi, who is a free agent since the end of June, will eventually sign a new FC Barcelona deal.
