Chelsea have apparently been informed that they must make a £13 million proposal for Villarreal defender Alfonso Pedraza.
Last season, the 25-year-old was a key member of the Yellow Submarine’s Europa League-winning squad, starting 10 games and playing 88 minutes in their final win over Manchester United.
Pedraza’s exploits drew the attention of clubs all across Europe, with Chelsea being linked with a move for the left-sided Spaniard.
Despite the fact that Pedraza’s contract does not expire until 2025, Calciomercato reports that Villarreal would be willing to let him leave for a small cost of £13 million.
Chelsea, though, may face heavy competition for the defender’s signature, with Barcelona, AC Milan, Roma, and Bayer Leverkusen all interested.
Pedraza has six goals and nine assists in 94 games for Villarreal, and he also played 14 Championship games for Leeds during a loan spell in 2016-17.
