Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has explained his decision to withdraw Mohamed Salah in the loss to Chelsea on Thursday night.

Liverpool is in talks with Mohamed Salah and three other Liverpool players over handing them new deals.

Salah’s future at Anfield has been a subject of speculation since last season where he claimed that he would like to play in Spain but according to Paul Joyce of The Times via the Liverpool Echo, the Egyptian, Fabinho Tavares, Alisson Becker, and Virgil van Dijk are set to be offered new deals by the club.

Salah is out of contract at the club in the next two years and has flirted with Real Madrid and Barcelona in what many saw as a ploy to make the Reds pay more in a new deal.

So many players at Liverpool will be out of contract in the summer of 2023 with the list having Van Dijk, Salah, Fabinho, Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane, Xherdan Shaqiri, and Jordan Henderson.

The players listed above arguably make up the spine of this Liverpool team with the club not keen to go the road they took with Gini Wijnaldum who left the club this summer for PSG on a free transfer.
